This cultivar, which originated in Israel, is now widely planted in Australia. The apple-shaped fruit is light green in color and spotted with tiny whitish dots. They mature to a dark black with a hint of purple and weigh 4.8g. The Manzanillo can vary greatly in terms of style. This one is classified as Robust. To add flavor and depth to any dish, use it in soups, stews, roasted meats, and as a finishing oil. We serve it with our Fig Balsamic over a salad of watercress, arugula, goat & bleu cheese, strawberries, toasted walnuts, and a few crushed parmesan crackers on top – delectable!
